The 'Gelstrip' system is an effective method of removing gelcoat which can offer the following;-

  • All sizes and types of craft catered for including, yachts, bilge keeled yachts, powerboats with spray rails and catamarans.

  • The gelcoat complete with any antifouling is removed entirely, down to an exact depth, leaving the laminate smooth and fair, which allows the drying out process to be completed more quickly. Removal of failed epoxy systems and topsides stripped if necessary.

  • The laminate is left smooth and fair, so saving in the amount of filler and time taken to apply.

  • All waste is collected dry at the cutting head and sucked by a powerful suction system into a waste tank for easy disposal, which means minimal environmental contamination.

Most wooden boats can be stripped of their antifoul and topside paint or varnish systems.

Other coatings such as, tar and casco sheathing can also be removed.

The advantages are:

  • Planks are left Fair

  • Caulking is not damaged

  • Fastenings will be exposed

  • Suspect plamks will be revealed
