Gelstrip are the oldest independent mobile specialists for the peeling of Gelcoat for osmosis treatment, and has been operating throughout the United Kindom and Europe since 1989.

In the past, methods used to prepare GRP for osmosis treatments, consisted of either wet or dry sandblasting, grinding or using a hot air gun. None of these methods was satisfactory.

A more efficient and accurate method was obviously required and so the handheld 'Gelstrip' machine was designed and developed for Gelstrips own use. Since this development, thousands of different types of boats have been successfully stripped using the 'Gelstripper' machine.

Major fire and structural damage can be prepared using the Gelstripper. The use of the Gelstripper will give a more accurate and structurally sound repair, compared to grinding the effected area.

'Gelstrip' have been contracted to work on boats owned by both the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Ministry of Defence Vessels.

Gelstrip can also remove the antifoul and topside paint systems from wooden boats.
